Giving triathletes directions - Mapping the digital future
What was the opportunity?
Team Phoenix Foundation approached KITC, as they wanted to re-vamp their web presence, but wasn’t sure where to start. As a charity that recruits breast cancer survivors and puts them through an intensive physical program that culminates in a triathlon, they have little time to invest in a digital strategy. We spent time understanding their process and their recruits and were able to offer a comprehensive digital roadmap that could be implemented in stages.
What did the KITC do?
We got to know the Firebirds that run, swim and cycle their way back from cancer treatment using Design Thinking tools. We found out how they discovered Team Phoenix, how they communicate and what was important to them. We also listened to our client’s views on expanding the program to other areas of the country. We then spent time working on all of the different facets of technology that would aid both the organisers and the Firebirds.
What was the outcome?
We were able to provide Team Phoenix Foundation with a digital roadmap. Starting with low cost modifications or alternatives to their current web presence and identifying scalable solutions for their expansion. We were also able to provide them with a valuable insight into the Firebird’s wants and needs and suggestions on how to meet these through digital media.
